Uncover the Anxiety-Inducing Lost Levels of The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster

The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered PS5 PlayStation

Whether you love it or not, The Last of Us Part II: Remastered is happening. One of the most enigmatic aspects of this arguably necessary bundle is its Lost Levels, which were omitted from the initial release, possibly for good reasons.

According to the game’s updated description, fans are reliving past experiences and eagerly awaiting more. The Lost Levels will allow players to “explore early-development versions of three new levels not seen in the original The Last of Us Part II: Sewers, Jackson Party, and Boar Hunt. Enjoy hours of new developer commentary about The Last of Us Part II’s development as you experience the game.”

At this point, it’s not entirely clear what format these Lost Levels will take. From that description, it’s tough to determine whether this will be bonus content accessed from the title screen or content actually incorporated into the game. Despite this uncertainty, it’s entertaining to speculate about where these scenes would fit into the game.

As per a report from GamesRadar, internet detectives have examined footage from the reveal trailer and, along with this new information, have loosely speculated on where these Lost Levels will be inserted in the game. Jackson Party seems self-explanatory, extending the section at the start of the game, and Boar Hunt is referenced in Ellie’s journal, where she ultimately corners a wounded boar in a general store.

Over on The Last of Us subreddit, fans are dreading what the Sewers might hold, as Part I’s take on that environment was one of the most suspense-filled sequences in the game. Furthermore, it seems like the Sewers would fit in after the first stalker encounter, but before encountering Scars for the first time. Players would then immediately reach the Hospital, where probably the second most infamous encounter in the game takes place. This sequence of events could have been intensely harrowing and might have needed a lull in pacing.
