When you’re a student, every penny counts. Luckily, there are plenty of discounts available to help ease the financial burden. Check out these tips to avoid paying full price:
Sign up for sites and apps like UniDays and Student Beans that offer a wide range of student discounts, from takeaways to tech. You can also get great deals with the Totum card and app (formerly known as the NUS Extra student discount card).
Many major retailers offer decent discounts. If you have a Co-op store near you, you can use the Totum card or the Young Scot card (free for young people in Scotland) to get 10% off your grocery shop in-store. Just show your card at the till. (Some products may be excluded, and some co-operative societies do not accept Totum).
Another option is Boots, which offers a 10% student discount on thousands of products when you become an Advantage Card member. Simply link your card with your valid student ID at the till to activate your membership.

For tech and electronics, students can get six months free of Amazon Prime membership by signing up for Prime Student. After the trial period, you can get Prime membership for half the usual price, which amounts to £4.49 per month.
