Two individuals apprehended by Irvine Police in connection with deadly car-to-car shooting

Irvine police have apprehended a man and a woman who are believed to be involved in a tragic car-to-car shooting incident in the city.

The arrests were executed on Friday, as per the records of the Orange County sheriff’s inmate registry.

Sgt. Karie Davies of the Irvine Police Department reported that the shooting took place around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, at the intersection of Athel Avenue and Sego Street.

Following investigations, the detectives gathered information indicating that the potential suspects resided in proximity to the crime scene, specifically in the Kensington Park and Saint James area. This residential area is located east of Jamboree Road and west of Harvard Avenue, explained Davies.

“A search warrant was issued for the residence,” Davies said. “Considering the nature of the crime, IPD’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team was activated. A perimeter was established around the residence and announcements were made, urging the occupants to exit.”

The arrest of Jayden Browndorf, 21, from Irvine, and Noah Farmer, 22, from Tustin, occurred without any incident, confirmed Davies.

According to Davies, the victim, 19-year-old Nicholas Alistair Neaimi-Pour, was shot while in the passenger seat of a Mercedes-Benz. A white Honda Civic pulled up next to the Mercedes, and a male suspect alighted from the car and proceeded to shoot the victim multiple times.

Neaimi-Pour, who would have celebrated his birthday on August 15, managed to exit the Mercedes. Some nearby residents provided immediate aid until emergency services arrived. The driver of the Mercedes, along with the occupants of the Honda, fled the scene.

Neaimi-Pour was swiftly transported to a hospital but was later pronounced deceased.

“The victim was clearly targeted,” Davies commented. She added that it is suspected to have been a “pre-arranged meeting point” for those involved.
