TVJ, composed of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, led the festivities of “National Dabarkads Day” on their show “E.A.T.” This special celebration coincided with the 44th anniversary of “Eat Bulaga.” During the episode that aired on Saturday, July 29, the trio and their fellow hosts, including Jose Manalo, Allan K., Ice Seguerra, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Miles Ocampo, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Carren Eistrup, and Tugue Zombie, sported red shirts with different numbers printed on them.
After the thrilling opening performances, the hosts explained that the numbers on their shirts symbolized the years they have been part of the “Dabarkads.” Vic enthusiastically exclaimed, “TVJ is represented by 1-4-3-4-4, which also means ‘I love you very much’.” He emphasized that despite the passage of time, as long as they are together with their fans, they will never tire of saying 14344.
Former “Eat Bulaga” host Baeby Baste and former contestants added to the fun as they participated in various segments of the show. The “TVJ Girls” Ciara Sotto, Danica Sotto, Jocas de Leon, and the wives of the trio, Helen Gamboa, Eileen Macapagal, and Pauleen Luna, were also present on “National Dabarkads Day.”
In one of the segments, Vic and Luna confirmed the actress-TV host’s second pregnancy. Tito expressed his gratitude for the past 44 years, saying, “We started as a program and evolved into friends, but time has strengthened us like siblings.” De Leon added, “We wholeheartedly thank you because wherever we may go and whatever we may be called, you still consider us your home.”
As part of the anniversary celebration, a new theme song for “Eat Bulaga” was unveiled on the same episode.
