Tucker Carlson has returned with his new Twitter show after being ousted from Fox News in April. In his 10-minute video, the popular conservative commentator delivers a monologue and takes aim at his favorite targets, including the news media. Carlson is known for raising questions about conspiracy theories and in this short video, he questions the September 11 attacks, the finances of Jeffrey Epstein, and UFOs. However, the question of whether or not Carlson can achieve the same success as he did at Fox News remains. Despite his high ratings, Carlson’s sexist and racist comments over the years led to advertiser boycotts from major companies such as AstraZeneca and Pacific Life.
In his Twitter video, Carlson takes a swing at major media outlets by suggesting that journalists don’t cover stories that “really matter.” He said, “A small group of people control access to all relevant information and the rest of us don’t know. We’re allowed to yak all we want about racism, but go ahead and talk about something that really matters and see what happens.” Carlson hopes his new show can thrive on the social media platform, which is now owned by billionaire Elon Musk.
“As of today, we’ve come to Twitter, which we hope will be the shortwave radio under the blanket,” he said. “We’re told there are no gatekeepers here. If that turns out to be false, we’ll leave.”
Carlson finished the show by saying, “In the meantime, we’re grateful to be here.”
