Kat Von D is embarking on a religious journey.
The influential tattoo artist, now a successful makeup entrepreneur, recently shared a video from her own baptism ceremony on Instagram. The video showcases her friends and family gathering in church to witness the special event.
In the video, a priest proclaims, “Katherine von Drachenberg, upon your profession of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in obedience to His Divine command, I baptize you, my sister, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” before immersing the “LA Ink” star in holy water.
Von D’s husband, singer Rafael Reyes, took the opportunity to express his love and admiration for his wife, commenting, “I love you so much my beautiful wife, you continue to inspire me every day. I want to marry you over and over again!”
Recently, Von D has been exploring a different path, distancing herself from her previous esoteric interests.
Last July, she announced on Instagram that she had made the decision to discard her collection of books on occult, witchcraft, and tarot. She explained, “I’ve always found beauty in the macabre, but I had to ask myself: What is my relationship with this content?”
“And the truth is, I just don’t want to invite any of these things into our family’s lives, even if they come disguised in beautiful covers, collecting dust on my shelves,” added the mother of one.
Von D is also in the midst of a physical transformation.
In an Instagram post, the reality TV star revealed her journey of completely covering up most of her old tattoos, describing it as “extremely refreshing” to see the “garbage, drunken tattoos” replaced with a sense of minimalism.
