An unfortunate dispute caused three fatalities and left another individual grievously wounded in Custer County, Colorado, following a shooting on Monday afternoon.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., law enforcement in Custer County instituted a shelter-in-place order for the Rocky Ridge Road vicinity in the northern section of the county, situated northeast of Westcliffe. The order has since been rescinded.
Several agencies, including the Custer, Pueblo, and Fremont County Sheriff Offices, as well as the Colorado State Patrol, responded to the location due to what was described as a “high-risk” situation.
Hours later, it was confirmed that a suspect had fled the area, resulting in the discovery of two men and a woman deceased at the scene. Another woman sustained “multiple” gunshot wounds to the chest and was air-lifted to Colorado Springs, then transported to Denver for treatment.
As of Monday night, the suspect remained at large, although authorities expressed confidence in their ability to locate him and take him into custody.
The suspect has been identified as 45-year-old Hanme Clark and is believed to be driving a white Dodge truck with license plate number BHLK27. It was revealed that the suspect and at least one of the victims were previously embroiled in civil disputes over property lines and easements.
