Savannah Chrisley, the daughter of Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, reality stars currently imprisoned for bank fraud and tax evasion, has provided an update on her parents’ well-being in jail.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the 26-year-old revealed that her parents are currently working on books about their experiences in prison and have been communicating via email.

Todd and Julie are serving their sentences in separate minimum-security prisons in Florida and Kentucky. They were found guilty of 12 counts of bank fraud and tax evasion last year.

Regarding what her parents are doing to keep themselves occupied in jail, Savannah stated, “They may be working on books, they may. Who knows? But they’re definitely documenting every little thing that goes on.”

She added that there are many people in the prison system whose stories go unheard, and her parents’ books may shine a light on these individuals.

When asked about how often she communicates with her parents, Savannah mentioned that she talks to them multiple times a day over the phone.

She also refuted rumors that her parents haven’t been in contact since entering prison in January 2022. Savannah clarified, “They’re emailing a little bit,” and explained that there have been issues with letters reaching them.

Savannah expressed frustration with the handling of mail in prisons and accused the prison staff of corruption. She also claimed that inmates are being punished by having access to ice machines and air conditioning limited in extreme heat conditions.

Savannah also mentioned “retaliation happening because of how I’m exposing things.” She has previously spoken out about her parents’ prison conditions and believes that her family’s discomfort may lead to positive changes.

This update follows Insider’s report on Todd and Julie’s reduced sentences. Todd’s release date from FPC Pensacola has been moved up to January 22, 2033, while Julie’s release from FMC Lexington is now scheduled for October 19, 2028. Their attorney, Jay Surgent, believes that the implementation of new sentencing guidelines in November will further decrease their sentences.
