In a triumphant return to the stage, country music legend Toby Keith delighted fans over the Fourth of July weekend with his first concerts since publicly announcing his battle with stomach cancer last summer.
According to The Oklahoman, hundreds of people attended Keith’s surprise pop-up shows in Norman, Oklahoma, where he resides. The performances took place at Hollywood Corners, an establishment owned and renovated by Keith, which includes a deli, bar, and music venue.
Attendees, such as Norman resident Joanna Hall, praised Keith’s performance and expressed their gratitude for his resilience. Hall mentioned how Keith seemed pleasantly surprised by the large turnout, as the shows were originally intended to be a secret event. She quoted Keith as saying, “This was a bigger secret than what I intended.”
Keith and his Easy Money Band treated fans to approximately two and a half hours of music each night, as confirmed by his publicist.
