The Metaverse Extends a Warm Welcome: AI Makes it Possible for The Beatles to Release a New Song

The Beatles to Release Brand New Song with the Aid of AI Technology

Exciting news for fans of The Beatles! The legendary band is set to release a never-before-heard song this year.

In a groundbreaking development, Paul McCartney, one of the two surviving members of the band, has revealed that they utilized cutting-edge AI technology to extract John Lennon’s voice from an old demo recording, resulting in the production of a new Beatles record.

During an interview, McCartney discussed the implementation of AI technology to replicate his youthful voice and even “resurrect” the voices of the late John Lennon and George Harrison.

“With AI, we were able to separate John’s voice from a piano, instructing the machine to remove the guitar,” explained McCartney.

Using this technique, McCartney was able to perform a “duet” with Lennon during their recent tour, including their performance at last year’s Glastonbury festival. They also utilized AI to create new surround-sound mixes for The Beatles’ Revolver album, which was released last year.

“For what will be the final Beatles record, we worked on a demo that John [Lennon] had. We have just finished it and it will be released this year,” McCartney revealed. “Through AI, we were able to capture John’s voice in its pure form and mix the record as we would normally do.”

Although McCartney did not disclose the title, speculations suggest that the new song is “Now and Then,” a composition by Lennon from 1978. This demo, along with other songs labeled “For Paul” on cassettes, was created shortly before Lennon’s untimely passing in 1980. These tapes were later entrusted to McCartney by Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono.

McCartney acknowledged the potential benefits and risks associated with AI technology, stating, “There’s a good side to it and then a scary side, and we’ll have to see where it leads. It can be quite daunting, but it’s the future.” AI is a form of technology that mimics human intelligence and can be utilized for tasks such as music composition, report generation, and artwork creation.

However, AI has faced criticism due to ethical concerns. This announcement comes at a time when the controversy surrounding AI-generated music is gaining momentum, with instances of fake tracks by popular artists like Drake, The Weeknd, and Kanye West accumulating streams before being removed from streaming services.

This raises questions about whether this cutting-edge technology has the potential to revolutionize the music industry or if it lacks the emotional depth and human touch present in music created by human artists.
