Israel Issues Evacuation Order to Gaza’s Population Ahead of Ground Invasion
Amidst rising tensions in Gaza, Israel has given a mass evacuation order to approximately half of Gaza’s population, in anticipation of an imminent ground invasion of the Hamas-controlled territory. Following a deadly attack by Hamas last weekend, Israel has retaliated with strikes and has imposed a blockade on the region, cutting off essential supplies such as food, fuel, and medication. The escalating conflict has resulted in over 3,000 deaths and numerous casualties on both sides. The World Health Organization (WHO) has raised concerns about the dire situation in Gaza’s hospitals, which are barely functioning due to the limited electricity supply, making it difficult to provide adequate care to injured patients. Local authorities report that around 1,800 people in Gaza have lost their lives. On the other side, Israelis are grieving over the deaths of more than 1,300 individuals, including 222 soldiers, since Hamas’ attack on October 7th. Additionally, Hamas has taken hostage approximately 150 people, including Israeli soldiers, civilians, and foreigners.
