A 54-year-old man has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing a woman during an argument at a Pasadena apartment complex. The incident occurred on Tuesday around 1:10 a.m. when police responded to reports of a fight with gunshots at a complex on North Fair Oaks Avenue. The victim, Tynisha Houston, 34, was found at the scene with gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police quickly apprehended the suspect, Mark Anthony Levels, inside the same apartment complex. They also recovered a firearm. According to Lieutenant Keith Gomez, the argument between Levels and Houston escalated from a tenant dispute and turned physical, ultimately leading to the shooting.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has formally charged Levels with murder. He is being held on a $3.1 million bail.
