Teenage Engineering, the Swedish electronics firm, known for its beautiful but pricey products, offering everything from a $1600 aluminum desk to a $2,000 set of singing, wooden dolls, and even the Nothing Phone would not exist without the company’s helping hand.
Teenage Engineering has debuted another pricey plaything for adults—a $250 toy car.
The new product, known as a “grip car,” is made with aluminum, steel, and smooth ball bearing rubber wheels, designed for easy movement in any direction. Available in red, black, and aluminum, it was designed by Danish designer Anders Hermansen.
The target demographic for this product is unclear. It may appeal to a rich child with minimalist tastes or a C-suite exec who wants a unique desk ornament to play with. Regardless, it’s an intriguing product, albeit not a necessity buy.
Teenage Engineering is gearing up for an exciting announcement, with its website currently featuring dynamic graphics hinting at an upcoming event. Stay tuned for an announcement on Wednesday. Hopefully, it’s more than just another toy car.
