Lexie Reese, a Silicon Valley executive, has officially declared her candidacy for the U.S. Senate. Her campaign focuses on unlocking opportunities, delivering results from government, and ensuring the protection of women and families.

Reese will be competing against fellow Democrats Barbara Lee, Katie Porter, and Adam Schiff, as well as Republican attorney Eric Early, in the race to succeed retiring Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein.
Identifying as a Democrat, Reese describes herself as a former nonprofit and tech leader dedicated to breaking barriers.
Prior to her candidacy, Reese held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Gusto, a payroll processing firm, from 2015-2021. She also worked at Google in two different periods, first from 2007-2011 as head of online sales and operations, then from 2011-2015 as managing director and later vice president of global publishers and platforms. Additionally, Reese briefly served as the director of local advertising at Facebook.
During her career, Reese was involved with Accion, a global nonprofit organization aimed at creating a financially inclusive world. She advocated for substantial micro-financing to support entrepreneurs, particularly women of color, in starting their businesses.
Prior to Accion, Reese worked at American Express from 2002-2007, where she held the roles of investments and business development associate and senior director of marketing, sales, and operations. She initiated the “Make Mine a Million” program at the financial services firm, providing loans, coaching, and networking opportunities for female and minority-led small business owners.
Aside from her professional endeavors, Reese has been a limited partner at Operator Collective, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm, since 2019. She also served as an executive in residence at General Catalyst, a venture capital firm based in the San Francisco Bay area, and was a member of the board of directors at The Gap, a clothing retailer. Additionally, Reese has experience working as a paralegal in the sex crimes unit of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and as a documentary filmmaker.
Reese holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree from Harvard Business School.
