Just like natural disasters such as hurricanes and blizzards, Taylor Swift now influences an airline to waive ticket-change fees.
The popstar announced the postponement of her Argentina concert due to severe weather conditions, stating on X, “due to the weather being so truly chaotic it would be unsafe to try and put on this concert.”
LATAM Airlines’ Chile branch reassured travelers that flight change fees are waived for those with Saturday or Sunday flights from Buenos Aires.
The airline announced the waiver of ticket-change fees and fare differences for those attending the rescheduled concert on Nov. 17.
However, some customers expressed dissatisfaction with the late notification and difficulty securing alternative seats.
Industry executives mentioned that the airline’s response is unusual and indicative of the significant impact of Swift’s tour on bookings.
