Tarzana Man Faces Murder Charges After Woman’s Torso Found in Trash Bin | NBC Los Angeles

Facing murder charges, Samuel Haskell, 35, was arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman’s torso in a trash bin in the San Fernando Valley. Los Angeles Police Department confirmed his arrest on Thursday and set his bail at $2,000,000.

An individual found a bag with the woman’s torso around 6 a.m. near Ventura Boulevard and Rubio Avenue in Encino. The subsequent investigation led law enforcement to Tarzana, where Haskell was apprehended at a mall in Topanga.

In addition to Haskell’s arrest, authorities are also searching for three missing individuals related to him, including Mei Haskell, Gaoshan Li, and YanXiang Wang.


Despite these developments, the three elementary-aged children residing in the Haskell home are safely under the custody of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
