The Soul Train Awards of 2023 were broadcast on Sunday night, and it was a memorable event, especially for the talented singer SZA.
This prestigious awards show, which celebrates the best in Black culture, music and entertainment, pays homage to the iconic “Soul Train” series. The event was hosted by the multi-talented Keke Palmer, a renowned actor, recording artist, producer, and entrepreneur. The night was a huge success for SZA, who clinched four wins, triumphing in categories such as best R&B/Soul female artist, album of the year, song of the year, and The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award.
Usher also had an outstanding evening, sweeping three awards: best R&B/Soul male artist, certified soul award, and best collaboration for his work with Summer Walker and 21 Savage. Victoria Monét was recognized twice, winning the best dance performance and video of the year accolades.
For those who missed the initial airing, there will be encore presentations of the show on Monday, November 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and Wednesday, November 29 at 6 p.m. ET/PT on BET.
