An Oregon man has been accused of using social media to target single mothers with young daughters, engaging in sexual assault against both the women and the children. Antonio Arredondo, aged 37, now faces charges including rape, sodomy, and sex abuse in four separate cases in Oregon. Law enforcement agencies have issued a press release stating that there may be additional victims yet to come forward. Sgt. Danny DiPietro of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office explained that Arredondo specifically sought out single mothers on social media platforms like Facebook and took advantage of their disclosure about having daughters. DiPietro emphasized that these women were being honest about their situation, attempting to find a partner who could accept their children. The investigation revealed that Arredondo would gradually establish a relationship with the victims and eventually be invited into their homes, where he would commit the sexual assault. Arredondo was indicted by a grand jury for two separate cases in Tigard and Washington County. During the investigation, authorities discovered two additional cases in which Arredondo was under scrutiny for similar crimes in Portland and Dallas, Oregon. Arredondo, a registered sex offender due to a previous conviction in Texas, has lived in Oregon for several years. Notably, his name does not appear on the state’s online sex offender registry, which only includes Level 3 offenders categorized as the highest risk. To aid in the identification of potential victims, authorities have released a photo of Arredondo and encourage anyone with relevant information to contact local law enforcement or the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Arredondo has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is awaiting his next court appearance.
