Suspected Drug Trafficker Arrested for Alleged Crimes in California and Texas

A 24-year-old man suspected of drug trafficking and money laundering in California and Texas has been apprehended at his Granada Hills residence, as announced by the California Highway Patrol on Thursday.

Casey Towson, the culprit, was taken into custody on Tuesday, during which law enforcement officers seized a staggering amount of over 1,500 pounds of cannabis products, six unregistered firearms, and $260,000 in cash. These details were provided by Public Information Officer Jacob Sanchez of the California Highway Patrol.

The arrest is a result of a CHP vehicle pursuit of a Dodge Charger Hellcat engaged in a high-speed race on the Riverside (91) Freeway in Anaheim, as stated by Officer Sanchez. The pursuit was ultimately abandoned when the suspect’s vehicle disappeared on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Norwalk.

Several weeks later, CHP investigators identified Casey Towson as the driver involved in the chase and proceeded to obtain a warrant for his arrest, according to Officer Sanchez.

The Round Rock (Texas) Police Department, aware of the search warrant, contacted CHP and revealed that they have been conducting a year-long investigation into Towson’s alleged involvement in large-scale marijuana transportation, sales, and money laundering.

Round Rock police executed multiple search warrants in Texas based on concrete leads, while CHP investigators proceeded with a search warrant at Towson’s residence, added Officer Sanchez.

During the search at Towson’s home, investigators discovered two unregistered assault rifles, one “ghost” assault rifle, approximately 100 pounds of marijuana, and 100 pounds of marijuana edibles, Sanchez disclosed.

Towson was taken into custody and booked into Orange County Jail on charges of being a felon in possession of firearms and for his alleged involvement in the pursuit that occurred in July. He is being held on a bail amount of $50,000.

Officer Sanchez further explained that CHP investigators pursued additional leads and subsequently executed another search warrant at an apartment in downtown Los Angeles, resulting in the arrest of three individuals connected to a Round Rock Police Department investigation.

Inside the apartment, investigators discovered three unregistered firearms, approximately $260,000 in cash, around 400 pounds of marijuana, and 900 pounds of marijuana edibles, Sanchez revealed.
