Experience the vibrant streets of South Los Angeles like never before at the fourth CicLAvia event of the year. This Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents are invited to explore different neighborhoods on foot or via alternative modes of transportation.
CicLAvia-South LA will cover over six miles of streets, starting from Vermont Avenue and Exposition Boulevard, then making its way west at Vermont and Century Boulevard to Jesse Owens Park at Century and Western Avenue.
Throughout the route, there will be four hubs where you can find food trucks, free water stations, restrooms, first-aid stations, bike parking, free bike repair, and even free pedicabs courtesy of AARP.
The hubs will be located at:
– Expo Park Hub, 3775 S. Vermont Ave.
– Vermont Slauson Hub, 5928 S. Vermont Ave.
– Westmont Hub, 8805 S. Vermont Ave.
– Juneteenth Hub, 1875 W. Century Blvd.
Motorized vehicles are not allowed along the route, but you’re welcome to walk, bike, skate, or use any human-powered equipment. Unfortunately, electric vehicles like scooters or hoverboards are not permitted.
This CicLAvia event will coincide with the annual Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair at Jesse Owens Park. Join the community for live performances, food trucks, activities, and access to various services such as record expungement, mental health support, and tenant protection assistance.
The festivities kick off with a news conference at 8:30 a.m. at Jesse Owens Park, featuring esteemed guests like Mayor Karen Bass and county Supervisor Holly Mitchell.
