Amy Dowden, professional ballroom dancer and star of Strictly Come Dancing, has shared the terrifying experience she had to endure while waiting for surgery after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Amy, 32, discovered a lump while preparing for her honeymoon with husband Ben Jones in April and confirmed the diagnosis in May. The wait for surgery was agonizing for Amy, who feared that the disease was spreading inside her. Surgeons ultimately removed two tumors from her right breast, as well as cancerous cells and lymph nodes for further analysis. Amy expressed her relief that the cancer is now in the lab, and spoke candidly about the emotional toll the wait took on her. She also revealed that out of fear, she hadn’t yet looked at her reconstructed breast.
