Snoop Dogg Cancels Hollywood Bowl Performances amidst Writers/Actors Strikes

Snoop Dogg’s highly anticipated two-night engagement at the Hollywood Bowl to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his influential “Doggystyle” album has unfortunately been canceled. The artist attributes the cancellation to the ongoing strikes by writers and actors.

These shows are just the latest casualties of the strikes by the Writers Guild of America and SAG/AFTRA against the Hollywood studios, which are represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

Snoop Dogg expressed his regret in an online statement, saying, “We are saddened to announce that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertain duration, we have to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show. We continue to support our fellow members in the WGA and SAG/AFTRA during this challenging time, and we remain hopeful that the AMPTP will return to the negotiation table with a meaningful proposal so that we can all resume our work.”

The shows, originally scheduled for late June and produced by Dr. Dre, were postponed to Oct. 20-21 in solidarity with the striking writers. Unfortunately, with actors now joining the picket lines and no sign of a breakthrough with either union, the Hollywood Bowl performances have been officially canceled.

According to a notice on the Hollywood Bowl’s website, ticket holders will receive automatic refunds, which will be credited back to their original payment method. The refunds are expected to be processed within the next week.
