Snoop Dogg Cancels Hollywood Bowl Performances Amidst Writers/Actors Strikes

The highly anticipated two-night Hollywood Bowl performance by Snoop Dogg in celebration of the 30th anniversary of his groundbreaking album “Doggystyle” has been officially canceled. The rapper cited the ongoing strikes by writers and actors as the reason for the cancellation.

These shows are the latest casualties of the strikes led by the Writers Guild of America and SAG/AFTRA against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, who represent Hollywood studios.

Snoop Dogg, in an online statement, expressed his regret and explained, “Due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty surrounding its duration, we must cancel the Hollywood Bowl show. We stand in solidarity with our fellow members of the WGA and SAG/AFTRA during this challenging time. We remain hopeful that the AMPTP will return to the negotiating table with a substantial proposal so we can all resume our work.”

The shows, originally scheduled for late June and produced by Dr. Dre, were rescheduled to take place on October 20-21 when the writers went on strike. At the time, both Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre expressed their support for the writers and decided to postpone the performances.

However, with actors now also joining the picket lines and no signs of a potential agreement with either union, the Hollywood Bowl shows have been officially canceled.

The Hollywood Bowl’s website states that ticket holders will receive automatic refunds, which will be credited back to the original payment method. The processing of refunds is expected to be completed within the next week.
