LAS VEGAS (AP) — A former operations manager at a Las Vegas Strip resort is facing 15 felony charges alleging he siphoned more than $773,000 in hotel refunds into a personal account that he used for luxury shopping, expensive dinners, spa treatments, and private jet flights. The incident has shocked the community and raised eyebrows among authorities.
Brandon Rashaad Johnson, 38, of Las Vegas, was arrested on September 1, 2023, and remains in jail as of Friday, September 8, 2023. Johnson’s alleged scheme involved diverting hotel refunds worth over $773,000 to his personal account, which he then used for extravagant shopping sprees, luxurious dining experiences, lavish spa treatments, and private jet flights.
The former manager worked at the renowned Aria Resort & Casino, an upscale establishment with 4,000 rooms that is operated by MGM Resorts International. The case has stirred significant attention and MGM Resorts spokesperson Brian Ahern declined to comment on the matter.
