Shocking Incident: Terrell Owens Involved in Car Accident Following Heated Dispute in Calabasas, Police Confirm

Former NFL star Terrell Owens was involved in a car accident on Monday night following a confrontation at a basketball court in Calabasas, as reported by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Fortunately, the Pro Football Hall of Famer did not sustain any injuries and did not require medical attention, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Maria Navarro.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Rondell Street, near Las Virgenes Road. Authorities stated that an argument unfolded between Owens and another individual, resulting in Owens being hit by a vehicle.

TMZ, the first source to cover the incident, revealed that the driver of the car was the same person involved in the argument with Owens. The collision reportedly targeted Owens’ knee, a six-time Pro Bowl receiver.

The suspect remains at large while the investigation is ongoing, as confirmed by the Sheriff’s Department.

Representatives for Owens expressed that they do not have any information regarding the incident, and Owens’ publicist has yet to respond to inquiries made.

On Tuesday, Owens appeared to allude to the incident in an Instagram post, featuring a video of him playing basketball in a gym with others. The video was set to the DJ Khaled song “Grateful” that features Vory.

“ABOUT LAST NIGHT…” Owens wrote. “*I do not own rights to music*
“BUT I DO HAVE A RIGHT TO PROTECT MYSELF.”
He added: “*hope the car is ok!!!”

Owens was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft and played for five teams during his 15-year career.

Aside from his exceptional athletic abilities, Owens garnered attention for his on-field celebrations, such as twice celebrating on the Dallas Cowboys’ midfield logo while playing against them as a member of the 49ers (he later joined the Cowboys for three seasons). He also famously pulled a Sharpie out of his sock and signed the football immediately after scoring a touchdown on “Monday Night Football.”

Owens has not played in the NFL since 2010 but expressed his availability to rejoin the league in 2022 after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and receiver Antonio Brown parted ways towards the end of the season.

“At the end of the day, I know that I can do it,” Owens stated at that time.
