Seattle Seahawks Experience Frustration from Bengals Loss; Remain Optimistic for Future Gains

Safety Julian Love expressed his frustration after the game, but remains optimistic about the team’s future. Head coach Carroll delivered an impactful message to the team.

The game was particularly challenging for quarterback Geno Smith, who took full responsibility for the loss. Despite throwing for 323 yards and making impressive plays, Smith was intercepted twice, including once in the red zone. The offense struggled to convert in the red zone during the second half.

Smith admitted, “I should have performed better overall. The defense and offensive line played exceptionally well. Charles Cross did an outstanding job, and I’m proud of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, DK Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett. They deserved to win today, but I didn’t do enough. I take full responsibility for that and I’m looking forward to the next opportunity.”

Although Smith was disappointed with the loss, he is determined to move on quickly.

He emphasized, “You have to let it go. In this game, you will face setbacks, but you have to bounce back and focus on the next game. We still have a lot of football left to play. I believe in my abilities as a player, and I know that today’s performance doesn’t define me. Mistakes happen, so it’s important to learn from them and move forward.”

“The team played incredibly well, and if I had made fewer mistakes and more plays, we would be celebrating a victory. The blame falls on me, and I’m determined to make the next game count.”
