Charity Lawson takes on the role of “The Bachelorette” in the upcoming Season 20 of the popular ABC reality show. This season’s Bachelorette, Charity Lawson, previously appeared on Zach Shallcross’ season of “The Bachelor.”

The premiere episode, which airs at 9 p.m. EDT, showcases Lawson meeting the contestants and giving one of them a first impression rose. In a twist, her brother and best friend, Nehemiah Lawson, will be there undercover as backup.

June 26 (UPI) — The highly anticipated Season 20 of “The Bachelorette” debuts on ABC. Charity Lawson, who previously competed on Zach Shallcross’ season of “The Bachelor,” will lead the show as the new Bachelorette.

The initial episode, airing at 9 p.m. EDT, introduces Lawson to the contestants and features her giving one of them a first impression rose. Nehemiah Lawson, her brother and best friend, will also be present undercover as backup.

The show has been hosted by former “The Bachelor” Season 5 star and NFL player Jesse Palmer since Season 26 after former host Chris Harrison departed from the franchise.

The Bachelorette, Charity Lawson, originates from Columbus, Ga. She is a child and family therapist and holds a master’s degree from Auburn University.

Lawson previously competed on Season 27 of “The Bachelor” in pursuit of the love of Zach Shallcross. She made it to the hometown date episode and was one of the final four contestants.

Although Shallcross ultimately proposed to Kaity Biggar, Lawson gained popularity as one of the fan favorites that season.

As the new Bachelorette, Lawson, 27 years old, becomes the fourth woman of color to lead “The Bachelorette.”

According to Lawson, she is attracted to men with a sense of humor and a bold, confident personality.

The competition for Lawson’s love includes twenty-five men between the ages of 24 and 33. Among them are a pro wrestler named Caleb, a world record jumper named Chris, a yacht captain named Michael, a tennis pro named Joey, a physician named Caleb, an underwater welder named John Henry, a traveling nurse named Brayden, a realtor named Adrian, a Harvard graduate named Josh, and more.

To watch “The Bachelorette” Season 20, tune in to ABC on Monday at 9 p.m. EDT. The show also streams on Hulu the following day.
