Saturday marks the final night for popular Troy bar, The Bradley

TROY — The Bradley, an iconic bar located at 28 Fourth St., is set to close its doors on Saturday following the successful sale of the business.

Owner Vic Christopher made the announcement of the closure through a heartfelt post on his Instagram account earlier this week. He explained that his decision to sell the establishment stems from his involvement in various local projects.

“The Bradley was a lively and vibrant place where I had the pleasure of spending time with amazing people, making it more of a living room than a business,” said Christopher. When someone approached him with a fresh and innovative concept for the historic building, he knew it was the right time to step away.

Christopher took over the bar, known as the “longest continuously operating bar in Troy,” in 2017 from former owner Gary Bradley. Bradley had acquired it in 1999 after it had served the locals for almost fifty years as Dempsey’s Grill.

Currently, Christopher’s primary focus is his company, Clark House Hospitality, which owns several businesses in the Troy area, including Donna’s Italian Restaurant, Little Pecks, Lucas Confectionery, and Tavern Bar. His main priorities currently include a residential development project in Troy’s Monument Square, as well as relocating 22 2 St. Wine Co. into the former Clement Frame Shop & Art Gallery space.

“Managing the bar was an incredible experience that not only expanded my social circle, but also forged lifelong friendships,” he shared.
