The couple exchanged their heartfelt vows on August 18, in the picturesque Calamigos Ranch, Malibu, with the honorable Nan Cameron officiating. Surrounded by 150 cherished guests, they looked stunning in their custom-made ivory suits by Indochino for the ceremony, later changing into suave black tuxedos by Sharpe Suiting for the memorable reception.

A tender moment between Mr. Cassata and his father took place during the reception, as they danced to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle. This song holds special meaning for them since it was their chosen melody when Mr. Cassata was just a little kid, before his transition. The reception was made even more magical as Mr. Cassata impressed the crowd by performing his original song, “The Promise,” while Dr. Meeneghan serenaded with a beautiful rendition of Peter Gabriel’s “The Book of Love” by the Magnetic Fields.

Adding an element of surprise, some of the guests learned an exciting line dance during the rehearsal dinner, leading to a lively flash mob-style performance at the reception. Alluding to his vows, Dr. Meeneghan quoted the iconic Freddie Mercury, the patron saint of queer love, saying, “I was born to love you, every single day of my life,” before the energetic dance commenced to Queen’s “I Was Born to Love You.”
