- YouTuber Ruby Franke, renowned for her channel 8 Passengers, was apprehended in Utah on August 30th.
- Both Franke and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, are now facing two charges of aggravated child abuse.
- Curiously, just two days before their arrest, they uploaded a video discussing the repercussions of hiding secrets.
The YouTuber mom, Ruby Franke, who was taken into custody on charges of child abuse, had previously discussed the consequences of dishonesty and hiding secrets on her channel.
Both Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt, her business partner, are now facing two counts of aggravated child abuse. They were arrested at 9:33 p.m. on August 30th at Hildebrandt’s home in Ivins, Utah, as confirmed by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office website.
Franke and Hildebrandt jointly operate ConneXions, a YouTube channel and a support group for moms aiming to provide guidance for those lost in the darkness of distortion.
Their latest video, titled “The Denigrating Victim,” was uploaded on August 28th and spans 27 minutes.
In this video, Franke and Hildebrandt delve into the concept of victimhood and its connection with dishonesty. These discussions, once hypothetical, now take on a new level of significance in light of their subsequent arrest.
Franke mentions, “Victim is a place where I live, a place where I have pity for myself because I don’t want to be responsible for me.”
She further says, “I could be dishonest, and I think I’m getting away with it because nobody knows… My dirty little secret. So it appears I don’t have any outcomes and I get away with it.”
Hildebrandt asserts that dishonesty always carries consequences, both in the physical and spiritual realms.
ConneXions became Franke’s main focus after her previous YouTube channel, 8 Passengers, which gained her popularity, closed down in mid-2023.
Viewers of 8 Passengers had long suspected that something was awry, even going so far as to allege child abuse. Franke vehemently denied these claims as early as 2020.
However, on August 30th, authorities in Utah took action after receiving a call about a severely malnourished child. The child was found with duct tape on their wrists and ankles, prompting the neighbors to alert the police.
Franke and Hildebrandt were subsequently arrested at Hildebrandt’s residence, according to a statement from the Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety Department.
While Franke and Hildebrandt have yet to issue public statements following their arrests, Franke’s estranged sisters have posted an update affirming that the arrests were necessary, and that the children are now safe.
Shari, Franke’s eldest daughter and a student at Brigham Young University, revealed on Instagram in September 2022 that she no longer maintains contact with her mother. Since Franke’s arrest, Shari has been collecting video evidence to support her siblings against her mother and ConneXions.
Kevin Franke, Franke’s husband, who has been largely absent from public attention in recent months, has released a statement through his attorney to Page Six. He stated that his top priority is keeping his children together under his care as their father.
