A Riverside skin care clinic physician has been charged with multiple felony offenses, accused of sexually assaulting three female patients. Dr. Sam Sannoufi, 52, from Newport Beach, was arrested for the second time in less than two weeks on Friday and is currently being held without bail at the Robert Presley Jail. The charges against him include five counts of sexual battery of an unconscious person, three counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious person, and one count of oral copulation of an unconscious person.
Dr. Sannoufi was scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Tuesday afternoon at the Riverside Hall of Justice. His first arrest took place on June 27, following an investigation related to a woman who had visited his Timeless Skincare Laser Clinic Primary Care. According to Officer Ryan Railsback, Riverside police spokesman, additional victims have come forward with similar allegations of sexual assault by Dr. Sannoufi since the initial arrest.
The first victim contacted the Sexual Assault-Child Abuse Unit of the agency in early June, reporting that she had been assaulted by the doctor during a consultation. The specific details of the alleged offense and the victim’s identity have not been disclosed. Sannoufi was taken into custody without incident after SACA detectives gathered sufficient evidence to obtain an arrest warrant. He posted a $1 million bond and was released from jail a few hours later.
No information regarding the other victims or their identities has been revealed. Sannoufi has no prior misdemeanor or felony convictions in Riverside County. The defendant has been a licensed doctor in the state of California since March 2009, with a medical degree from the Ukrainian State Medical University in Kiev. There have been no disciplinary actions, administrative citations, or malpractice suits on file with California regulators.
