Progress on Gender Balance Achieved by Business Schools

The Covid-19 pandemic has driven an increase in the number of women enrolling in Masters in Finance (MiF) programmes globally, according to the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The non-profit body’s data showed female enrolment on the courses, taking advantage of recent changes to syllabus and curriculum, had grown by 41% YoY in the US and 70% YoY elsewhere. Despite making up just 41.6% of intake, the percentage of female enrolment for 2021/22 was also up by 62% since 2017/18. The report linked the surge to schools promoting gender balance among faculty teaching MiF courses and the offering of more curriculum options, including green and responsible finance.
