A man was jailed for enticing young girls into sending sexually explicit images by disguising his identity.
Ashley Haverkamp, 32, used social media to target five children across the country.
Nottinghamshire Police revealed that Haverkamp, from Forest Town near Mansfield, initiated conversations with his victims and then sent them explicit images and videos of himself.
On Tuesday, he was sentenced to six years in prison at Nottingham Crown Court.
Haverkamp, who deceived the girls by lying about his age, persuaded them to send explicit material in return.
‘Abhorrent’
The authorities were alerted to Haverkamp’s activities when the mother of one of the girls discovered his actions and reported him to the police.
Subsequently, four additional victims were identified by law enforcement and provided video evidence to strengthen the prosecution’s case.
Haverkamp, residing on Newlands Drive, pled guilty to charges of producing indecent photographs of children, engaging in sexual communication with children, and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Furthermore, he has been placed on the sex offenders register for life and subjected to a sexual harm prevention order.
Investigator Kerry Humphreys, from Nottinghamshire Police, commented: “Haverkamp poses a significant threat to young girls.
“Despite being aware that he was conversing with vulnerable children, he deliberately exploited them for his own sexual satisfaction.
“His actions were extremely abhorrent, and I am relieved that he has now been incarcerated.”
