Possible Sighting: Heuermann Spotted with Missing Woman

Authorities are currently investigating a potential connection between the suspect in the serial killings at Gilgo Beach in New York and a woman who went missing in South Carolina. This investigation has been prompted by the fact that Rex Heuermann, the suspect, owns property in South Carolina where the missing woman, Julia Ann Bean, was last seen on May 31, 2017. The county where Heuermann owns four vacant lots is located about 90 miles northwest of the county where Bean disappeared. According to ABC News, Cameron Bean, the daughter of Julia Ann Bean, reported seeing her mother with an unfamiliar man the day before she went missing. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office believes that this man could possibly be Heuermann. Heidi Kovas, a close friend of the family, revealed to the Sun that Cameron Bean recognized Heuermann when she saw news coverage of the Gilgo Beach case and experienced a chilling feeling. Cameron Bean confirmed this in a text message shared with the outlet, stating that Heuermann was the last man she saw her mother with in person.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office initially received information about the possible connection between Bean and Heuermann from a family friend. This information was regarded as “third-hand.” Subsequently, Cameron Bean agreed to be interviewed by investigators and confirmed the possibility that the man seen with her mother was indeed Heuermann. The sheriff’s office has been diligently analyzing the recently received information to establish any evidence linking Bean to Heuermann. They have also informed the FBI about this potential connection. However, it is important to note that no confirmed facts have emerged that either confirm or deny the possibility of a link between the two individuals. Julia Ann Bean was active on social media until mid-July 2017 and was reported missing in November of the same year, as reported by the Sun.

Heidi Kovas provided additional details regarding the sighting of the man with Bean. According to the Sun, the man used a name other than Rex Heuermann but drove a dark truck that Cameron Bean believes was a Chevrolet Avalanche. Coincidentally, the same truck was confiscated in the investigation of the Gilgo Beach case. At the time of her disappearance, Bean was a 36-year-old mother of three who was grappling with addiction, according to the Sun. Kovas also informed WPIX that Bean was likely involved in escorting. Law enforcement agencies in various states connected to Heuermann have been reviewing unresolved murder and missing persons cases, particularly those involving sex workers. Heuermann faces charges related to the murder of three sex workers, is suspected of killing a fourth, and has been allegedly violent towards others, as reported by News Nation Now.
