Police: 6-Year-Old Girl Bites Kidnapper, Successfully Prevents Abduction

In the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami, a 6-year-old girl showed incredible bravery when she fought off a man who tried to abduct her. The girl, known as Lyric, had been playing outside with her siblings in the courtyard of their apartment complex. As she sat on the rear steps of the building, Leonardo Venegas approached her and attempted to grab her. However, she fought back and managed to escape his grasp. When asked about the incident, Lyric simply said, “I bit him.” Police believe that her bite caused Venegas to drop her, but he did slap her before fleeing. It was later reported that Venegas was arrested on charges of kidnapping and child abuse. The Miami Police Department praised Lyric for her bravery, stating that her actions likely saved her from a very dangerous situation.
