Piers Morgan sheds light on what motivated him to reveal the identities of the British royals mentioned in the Dutch translation of Omid Scobie’s new book Endgame. Scobie claims that these royals were involved in discussions about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s child’s skin color, a topic raised in Harry and Meghan’s sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, where no names were disclosed.
This week, UK media have been skirting around the names. An absurd incident unfolded on the BBC’s flagship radio news Today Programme, where names were withheld in the first hour, but revealed in the second.
In a column for the weekend’s Times, Morgan stated that the situation had become farcical and questioned why the Dutch were privy to information about the royal family while the British were kept in the dark. He also expressed his belief that neither Charles nor Kate made any racist comments about baby Archie. Moreover, he criticized the damaging impact of the situation and called for an open disclosure of the alleged statements to put an end to the divisive issue.
Morgan added that it seemed like Scobie’s book was sabotaged en route to a printer in a foreign country, which led to the inclusion of the names. Scobie and the Dutch translator deny including these names in the initial manuscript.
Meanwhile, the UK media is eagerly awaiting a response from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the book’s contents, and that King Charles’ team is considering their options to address the damaging story.
