Waking up before sunrise to endure long security lines and wait at the gate is an unpleasant experience, especially for someone like me who tends to complain.

Therefore, when I had the chance to book a room at the airside Yotelair hotel during my 15-hour layover in Istanbul, I saw it as a valuable time-saving opportunity. I was willing to pay any amount, in this case $230, to bypass the monotonous airport wait. Additionally, the idea of spending the night inside an airport terminal was intriguing, reminiscent of the movie “Night at the Museum.”

However, this convenience came at a price: my hotel room, measuring 140 square feet, turned out to be one of the smallest and most expensive in terms of cost per square foot.

Now, let’s take a closer look at my overnight accommodations.
