One of the highlights of the game was the Philippines’ dominance in the blocking department, with 11 attacks off blocks compared to Macau’s two. Core players Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, AC Miner, and Faith Nisperos led the team’s successful 40 attacks.
In the second set, Nisperos played a crucial role, contributing to a 6-1 run and sealing off the set with a kill that brought the Nationals to match point at 24-10. The Philippines also showcased their strong floor defense in the third set, limiting Macau to just nine points.
In their next match, the Philippines will face Indonesia, who also had a dominant win against Macau in their opening match, with a score of 25-7, 25-18, 25-8.
