Jodie Sweetin, known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on “Full House,” discussed the Olsen twins’ decision to step away from acting in a 2022 appearance on the podcast “Off the Vine.”
“It’s not like anything bad ever happened,” Sweetin explained. “They were only 8 years old when the show ended, so their lives extended far beyond that.”
“Those years from age 5 to 13 were my formative years, my middle school, my elementary school. That was my entire childhood. But for them, they were barely in first grade when they were already done,” she continued.
In a 2019 interview with Vogue, the twins addressed their choice to prioritize the fashion industry over acting.
“We’ve already been there, we’ve already done that. We started out that way,” stated Mary-Kate Olsen. “But this is the path we’ve chosen to move forward in our lives: to not be in the spotlight, and to let our work speak for itself.”
