Miss Supranational Philippines, Pauline Amelinckx, will be jetting off to Poland on Sunday to participate in the 2023 Miss Supranational pageant. This comes just a day after she emerged victorious in an online contest organized by the pageant officials as a prelude to the main competition.
Amelinckx’s departure was marked by a press conference held at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria on June 22. During the event, she was accompanied by Mister Pilipinas Supranational, Johannes Rissler. Together, they bid farewell to her national organization and set off towards the Clark International Airport in Pampanga.
The final showdown of the 2023 Miss Supranational pageant will take place at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sacz, Poland, on July 14. The 2023 Mister Supranational contest will follow suit in the same venue on July 15.
The Miss Philippines organization shared a snippet from the send-off video on their Instagram page, capturing the beauty and excitement of the moment. In the video, Amelinckx could be seen wearing an amber-colored cut-out gown with a crown on her head. Her Boholana mother also joined the send-off party, making the occasion even more special for Amelinckx.
Expressing her gratitude and joy, Amelinckx took to Instagram to thank everyone who attended the send-off and showed their support. She mentioned how humbling it was to have her mother and talented individuals by her side as she embarks on this journey.
Before her departure, Amelinckx emerged as the winner of the “YouTube Influencer Challenge,” solidifying her place in the Top 5 of the Miss Influencer contest. She had previously secured a spot in the Top 10 of the “Suprachat” challenge, winning the Group 10 competition.
The Miss Supranational organization announced that the Miss Influencer contest will now have a Top 6 instead of the initially planned Top 5. Fabiola Martinez from Paraguay and Vanessa Lopez from Mexico tied in the “Instagram Influencer Challenge,” while Dang Thanh Ngan from Vietnam claimed victory in the “Facebook Influencer Challenge.” The identities of the other two delegates in the running for the title are yet to be revealed.
Amelinckx is the sole contender representing the Philippines in these online challenges, setting her apart from the rest. As a Belgian-Filipino host and model from Bohol, she aspires to bring home the second Miss Supranational crown for the Philippines. The first victory was achieved by Mutya Johanna Datul in 2013. Since then, Filipino representatives have consistently secured placements in the Top 25, Top 20, or Top 10.
With her departure, Amelinckx carries the hopes and dreams of her nation as she sets out on this remarkable journey.
