‘Parents’ Efforts to Support Teachers Union Falls Short, Surpassing CNN+’

What do you call a group of 3 million government employees who can’t find even 3 parents per state to agree with their radical agenda?

They are called the National Education Association (NEA).

According to a recent report from Education Week, the NEA, the largest teachers’ union in the country, has just concluded its annual assembly – and its future looks grim and extreme.

According to EdWeek, the NEA has lost 115,000 members from 2017 to 2022 and expects to lose an additional 24,000 teachers in its latest budget. The lack of support for the NEA’s radical agenda is evident, especially among parents. EdWeek reports that the NEA’s goal of enrolling 6,300 community allies (non-educators, including parents) has fallen short, with the actual number being closer to 150.

Parents are understandably resistant to an organization that promotes critical race theory, race-based reparations, and radical gender ideology, while simultaneously labeling parent groups like Moms for Liberty as “threatening” to public schools.

The NEA is also facing challenges from within its existing base of government employees. Governors like Ron DeSantis and Sarah Huckabee Sanders have signed legislation preventing the automatic deduction of union dues from teachers’ paychecks, causing panic within the NEA. The union President, Becky Pringle, warned that eliminating payroll-deduction services will have a devastating and immediate impact on membership.

In summary, the NEA is facing a decline in membership and struggling to gain the support of parents and government employees. However, the organization continues to exert its influence over U.S. elections and the education system. Grassroots groups like Moms for Liberty and supportive governors are empowering parents and challenging the public school establishment.

It is crucial for political leaders and advocates of parents’ rights to continue pushing for school choice and transparency in public education. While victories for students may take time, the tide is turning in favor of empowering parents and providing the best education possible for American children.

Despite the NEA’s attempts to redefine words and concepts, those who support students and parents’ rights remain hopeful. The NEA’s “community ally” brigade, however, may have a tougher time gaining traction.
