An individual was fatally shot outside a convenience store in Long Beach and the suspected perpetrator is currently in custody as of Wednesday.
The shooting incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 1000 block of Long Beach Boulevard, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department.
The deceased individual, Isaac Marshell IV, 27, from Long Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the LBPD.
“Based on the initial investigation, it appears that the victim was involved in a physical altercation with two male suspects outside a business,” stated the police.
“After leaving the scene, the victim returned to the business in his vehicle and parked in front. At that point, the same two male suspects approached him and subsequently assaulted him. During the altercation, one of the suspects fired a gun, resulting in the victim being shot,” explained the police.
“The shooting suspect was apprehended near the crime scene shortly after the incident by responding officers. However, the second suspect fled on foot and is still at large,” said the police.
Darrell Brock, 24, from Pennsylvania, has been arrested and booked on suspicion of murder. He is currently held on $2 million bail, informed the police.
“As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unknown but is believed to be an unprovoked attack,” stated the police.
The detectives will present their case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for further consideration this week, added the police.
