Aug. 11 (UPI) — The multi-talented 20-year-old artist, Olivia Rodrigo, has returned with another captivating musical piece.

The singer and actress unveiled her latest creation, “Bad Idea Right?,” along with an accompanying music video on Friday.

In the thought-provoking video for “Bad Idea Right?,” Rodrigo immerses herself in a house party, surrounded by real-life friends Iris Apatow, Madison Hu, and Tate McRae. The storyline involves Rodrigo receiving a call from her ex while at the party, ultimately leading her to venture to their new address, against her better judgment.

As she croons, “And I’m right here with all my friends / But you’re sending me your new address / And I know we’re done, I know we’re through / But God, when I look at you.”

Rodrigo has also shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the making of the “Bad Idea Right?” music video on Instagram.

“bad idea right? is out everywhere!!!! I had such a fun time making this song with @dan_nigro in nyc last year. we wrote the chorus as a joke but we loved it so much we made it into a full-fledged song lol!” the star exclaimed in the caption.

She further expressed her excitement about the release of the music video, stating, “I had a ball making the music video with my friends @petrafcollins @madisonhu @tatemcrae @irisapatow and I’m so happy it’s out in the world.”

“Bad Idea Right?” is one of the tracks featured on Rodrigo’s highly anticipated second studio album, Guts, which is set to hit the shelves on September 8.

The album also includes the previously released single and music video for “Vampire,” unveiled by Rodrigo in June.

Guts serves as a follow-up to Rodrigo’s debut studio album, Sour, which made waves in 2021.
