People in the community are upset because the facility benefits everyone, yet it’s being taken away to accommodate migrants. Furthermore, plans to convert parkland on Randall’s Island for migrant use have drawn widespread criticism. This move goes against decades of efforts to provide sports fields for young people, which helps keep them engaged in positive activities.
