- The group are releasing a new song for the upcoming “Trolls Band Together” movie.
Fans are eagerly anticipating an NSYNC reunion tour following their appearance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards this week. But for now, they’ll have to settle for new music.
All five members of NSYNC — Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick — graced the stage to present the award for best pop video to Taylor Swift.
Though they didn’t perform, the NSYNC reunion was a standout moment of the night, prompting fans on social media to speculate about a potential tour.
Even Taylor Swift herself had questions when she accepted her award, asking the group: “Like, are you doing something? What’s going to happen now? They’re going to do something and I need to know what it is.”
The hype continued the following day as the group shared a mysterious video on Instagram, teasing a major announcement.
And now it appears that NSYNC is set to release their first single in 21 years. The track, “Better Place,” will be featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming animated movie, “Trolls Band Together,” which stars Justin Timberlake.
According to People, the full song will be available on September 29. However, a snippet can already be heard on TikTok and in a new trailer for the film.
Representatives for NSYNC have not yet responded to Insider’s request for comment.
The last time NSYNC performed together as a five-piece was at the 2013 VMAs when Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Joey Fatone joined Justin Timberlake on stage for a 12-song medley following his receipt of the Video Vanguard Award.
In 2019, the group reunited without Justin Timberlake for a surprise appearance during Ariana Grande’s Coachella set.
All five members came together again in 2018 when they received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
