Tragic news emerged on Tuesday as 35-year-old former NFL quarterback, Ryan Mallett, passed away in an apparent drowning incident off the coast of Florida. Mallett, who was working as a high school football coach in Arkansas at the time of his death, was caught in a rip current along with a group of 9 to 12 other individuals at a beach in Destin, Florida, according to sources cited by Arkansas’ Deltaplex News. Although everyone else managed to make it to safety, Mallett found himself struggling and eventually submerged.
