Newly Introduced Leadership Academy Offers Residents Opportunity to Familiarize With Indio Operations

The city of Indio has unveiled an exciting and innovative seven-week program, known as the Indio Leadership Academy, aimed at empowering residents and fostering a deeper understanding of the city’s operations. Set to commence on September 12 and concluding on October 24, the program will provide participants with unique insights into various aspects of the city’s functioning, alongside the opportunity to instigate positive change within the community.

Throughout the duration of the program, attendees will engage in a series of captivating sessions, each led by different city officials. These sessions will not only shed light on the vital tasks that contribute to the seamless and efficient running of Indio, but also explore the city’s innovative projects that are shaping its future. Participants will get an up-close and personal experience, witnessing the true heartbeat of Indio and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the city’s daily operations.

The inaugural session will feature renowned individuals such as City Manager Bryan Montgomery, Deputy City Manager Scott Trujillo, and City Clerk Administrator Sabdi Sanchez. Scheduled for Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., each session will offer a light dinner and refreshments to ensure a comfortable and engaging learning environment.

Topics covered in subsequent sessions will include Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology, Community Development and Economic Development, Public Works, Engineering, Capital Projects and IWA, Community Services, Teen Center, Senior Center, Arts, and Public Safety. These sessions will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the various departments and services within the city, allowing them to appreciate the immense effort that goes into ensuring the welfare and prosperity of the community.

The Indio Leadership Academy is open to individuals over the age of 18 and is limited to 25 participants.
