New Hampshire Biden Backers Set to Unveil Exciting Write-In Initiative for Primary Elections

New Hampshire supporters of President Biden are gearing up to launch a write-in campaign in the state’s first-in-the-nation primary in 2024. The announcement for this grassroots effort is expected to be made early next week.

The write-in campaign is a response to the fact that President Biden’s name will not appear on the New Hampshire primary ballot. This is because the Democratic Party altered the primary calendar, making South Carolina the first state to hold a Democratic primary that awards delegates for the Democratic National Convention.

Despite being pushed back in the party’s calendar, New Hampshire is still required by state law to host the nation’s first primaries.

It’s important to note that this write-in movement is independent of the president’s reelection campaign. The Democratic group behind it will need to file with the Federal Election Commission to establish a nonconnected political action committee, which means they cannot use President Biden’s name in their organizing title.

According to several Democrats familiar with the plans, the announcement of the write-in campaign will come with an impressive list of endorsements from across New Hampshire.

This effort is also a response to the primary challenge posed by Rep. Dean Phillips, who has been calling for more Democratic primary challengers to President Biden. Phillips has expressed concerns about the president’s age of 80.

While the outcome of the write-in campaign may not significantly impact President Biden’s chances of becoming the Democratic nominee, it does raise questions about the wisdom of his candidacy.

One New Hampshire voter, George Bruno, a former U.S. ambassador, shares these concerns. He sees President Biden as a transitional president and believes that running for eight years at the age of 80 is not ideal – a sentiment that Bruno also extends to Donald Trump.

Bruno is now considering voting in the Republican presidential primary, as New Hampshire allows “undeclared” voters to participate in either party’s primary.

The number of undeclared voters has increased recently, with over 3,500 Democrats in the state switching their party affiliation to undeclared.

Bruno hopes that a strong challenger to Trump emerges in the Republican primary, stating that the Republican candidate may need a boost.
