In a groundbreaking discovery, British researchers have found evidence supporting the transmission of Covid-19 via surfaces.
During the early days of the pandemic, measures like using antibacterial wipes and sanitizing gels were widely adopted to keep surfaces clean and prevent transmission.
However, the focus shifted to mask-wearing as it became evident that the virus primarily spread through respiratory droplets.
Nevertheless, a new study conducted by experts from Imperial College London suggests that surfaces can still harbor the virus and contribute to its transmission.
The research team analyzed 279 households in London during the peak of the pandemic, when vaccination rates were low and at least one member had recently been infected with Covid-19.
Regular Covid-19 tests were conducted to determine how long it took for the virus to spread.
