Mystery Unsolved: Woman Allegedly Deserts Child in Larchmont Village, Generating Public Outrage

A 24-year-old woman suspected of abandoning her toddler in a stroller in Larchmont Village has been released from jail after being arrested for child endangerment.

Reports from the Los Angeles police and jail records confirm that Targie Alexandre was apprehended at her workplace on Wednesday and taken into custody. She was initially given a bail of $105,000, but according to jail records, she was released from custody on Thursday.

According to the police, a passerby spotted the toddler, a 3-year-old girl, in a stroller at around 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday on North Larchmont Boulevard near First Street. The child was taken to a hospital for evaluation and was found to be in good health with no injuries.

The stroller contained Alexandre’s identification, which led the police to launch a search for her. Eventually, they were able to contact the child’s father.

The reasons behind the child being left unattended remain unclear.
